The history of Cernobbio tells us that it has not always been one municipality.

Until the thirties it was divided into three: Rovenna, Piazza Santo Stefano and Cernobbio. Each having its own individual style of architecture and town planning. Cernobbio was created from the fusion of these three municipalities and represents the unity of these characteristic historical municipalities.
